Ou Est Le Hibou ? ? ?
That’s French for “Where is the Owl?” Somebody call Inspector Clouseau so we can get to the bottom of this caper. The Owl has been MIA for a minute now. Like Flaco, the last sighting was in NYC in May.
It’s been a few months so I thought I would drop a post and let everyone know i’m still here doing owl things. I’ve been receiving a bunch of texts and calls from friends lately. You know, “Wellness checks” lol. I do appreciate the concern. I’ve been battling a sickness all summer long. No, not the sickness du jour, Cyclospora. I tend to avoid places like Taco Bell. I’m not sure my stomach could handle that even if the lettuce was clean. It all started back in May with a fateful trip to NYC. While strolling about midtown I ventured too close to the Garden and I caught a case of Knicks Championship-itis. 40 days of Knicks Delirium ensued. Knicks in 5 baby! check my IG post. I called it. As a lifelong Knicks fan, this was an amazing start to the summer. Of course, about the time I was getting over this illness, I caught a nasty case of World Cup Fever. It was another 40 days of futbol madness and some chills! The withdrawals were nasty! Luckily the new Premier League season kicked off this past Friday.
Enough silliness, the truth is I’m fine. I’ve just been enjoying summer the old fashioned way. No Phones, No socials. Just pure unadulterated summer! I’ve been lake hopping in the Desolation Wilderness of the Sierra Nevadas. Attending Baseball Games (Yankees and Giants) and drinking cold beers. Playing in the garden and being stung by Bees. Seriously, 3 bee stings this summer. WTF? I Haven’t been stung since I was a kid. Biking, hiking and kayaking. Night time stargazing. Afternoons of sunning on the deck while knocking out the summer reading list. (have you read anything good this summer? I’m always down for recommendations) Rocking the Grill like Bobby Flay. Just doing what I do. Don’t need to flex on the gram, Just need to get out there and enjoy it! Like Peter Sellers said “You have to live before you die, or you’ll die before you live.” And with that advice, I’m off to Chicago to catch a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. (cuz Summer ain’t over yet!) "Heyyybattabattabattasawinggggbatta!"
