Ride the Lightning

So, this post is a little late, but better late than never, right? Besides, there are still a handful of limited edition prints remaining so why not write about them?? It all started back in November when I returned to Tokyo where I reunited with my friend Vlot. We met up for a few cold beers and some mystery meats (last time it was fried intestines ) in the back alleys of Kanagaawa-ku. His friend Uyu, one of Tokyo’s premier street slappers joined us for the sit down. We discussed the sticker game as cigarette smoke mixed with the smoke from the tableside grills. After chopping it up and downing a few beers in rapid succession (the Japanese like to drink. i like the Japanese) the idea to create some collabs was born.

Upon returning stateside, we quickly set to work with some new designs between the three of us. The end results are stunning. VLOT tweaked my owl by replacing the eyes with lightning bolts, throwing a bow on the owls head and then flipping it up with a blue and pink colorway with halftones. Uyu opted for a more traditional side by side layout of an anime character with my owl. It is a straightforward yet bold two color design that commands your attention. It definitely has those kawaii vibes.

When the artwork was done we teamed up with Bridge Mogura Gallery to release these prints. We were not disappointed with the results. The colors pop so hard, the art jumps off the page. These prints are incredible and of the highest quality. Check the stats: 270 gsm eggshell white paper with normal edges. The Uyu prints are 230mm x 270mm and the VLOT prints are 350mm x 350mm

Each print is released as an edition of 30 with a color variant in an edition of 10. In addition there are 5 artist Proofs. Each print is hand signed and numbered by both artists. Prints can be purchased from the Bridge Mogura Editions website and they ship worldwide. The prints were released in March so quantities are limited. Grab yours now before they fly away !!!

Arigato Gozimas!

p.s. Bridge Mogura Gallery is who made my first solo showing in Tokyo possible at Bankrobber LABO in Shibuya. Any unsold canvases from the Ruffled Feathers show are still available on their website. Give them a look when you are done shopping for prints.
